Livermore Public Library invites teens ages 13 and older and adults to celebrate Diwali with a Pichwai art class on Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, at 7 p.m. in the Storytime Room at the Civic Center Library, 1188 S. Livermore Ave.
Participants will discover Pichwai art, a 400-year-old folk-art tradition originating in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, India. Traditionally painted on cloth using natural pigments, these intricate devotional works depict stories of Lord Krishna and often feature signature motifs such as sacred cows, lotuses and peacocks, which symbolize divine grace and purity.
No previous art experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided. Registration is required by calling 925-373-5505.
