An Introduction to the Feldenkrais Method® & Awareness Through Movement®
So much of our attention is drawn outward—to screens, devices, and the constant demands of everyday life—that we can lose touch with what we’re sensing and experiencing in ourselves and the world around us.
We often approach movement by trying to do things correctly, or by correcting what we think we’re doing wrong. The Feldenkrais Method offers a different approach: becoming curious about what we’re actually doing and discovering other possibilities.
In this welcoming, 90-minute introductory workshop, we’ll take time to unplug and reconnect with ourselves through gentle, guided Awareness Through Movement lessons. By slowing down and paying attention to how we move, breathe, and respond, we can begin to recognize habitual patterns, notice unnecessary effort, and explore new ways of moving with greater ease and comfort.
Through movement, discussion, and reflection, we’ll explore how developing self-awareness can become a meaningful form of self-care.
No previous experience is needed. The lessons are gentle and adaptable, with opportunities to rest and move at your own pace.
This workshop is also a chance to experience the Feldenkrais Method firsthand before deciding whether to join a weekly class series.
