Livermore Public Library will welcome local author Helen Gladden as the special guest at its Writers Meetup on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Participants may attend in person in the Civic Center Library Boardroom, 1188 S. Livermore Ave., or online via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87903428572.
Writers aged 18 and older – from aspiring beginners to experienced published authors – are invited to connect with others seeking support, encouragement, and motivation to write. Gladden will share writing and publishing tips with attendees and discuss her new suspenseful mystery novel, In the Crosshairs, published by Sibylline Press.
Gladden is a retired middle and high school principal and former English teacher. Born and raised in Oakland, she moved to Livermore more than 33 years ago and currently lives there with her husband and their two golden retrievers. She enjoys traveling, taking long walks, cooking, reading, and, of course, writing. Although she has written poetry over the years, retirement gave her the opportunity to write her first novel, In the Crosshairs.
