Livermore Public Library will host a community festival to kick off the start of the Summer Learning Program on Saturday, May 30, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Civic Center Library, 1188 S. Livermore Ave., Livermore, CA 94550.
This free celebration will include a talk and book signing by graphic novelists Thien Pham and Briana Loewinsohn, a Pete the Cat storytime, petting zoo, gardening workshop, and more. Attendees of all ages can also register for the Summer Learning Program and pick up their registration prizes.

The 2026 Summer Learning Program is open to all ages, from babies to adults. Participants track their reading and activities to earn prizes and raffle tickets. Anyone may register at livermore.beanstack.org or on the free Beanstack app. Time spent reading after May 26 can be logged online or on paper gameboards available at any Livermore Public Library location. This year’s raffle prizes include a Nintendo Switch 2, Great Wolf Lodge gift card, Alden Lane Nursery gift cards, and more!
