Livermore Public Library is pleased to welcome journalist and author Thomas Fuller for a special author talk on his book, The Boys of Riverside: A Deaf Football Team and a Quest for Glory. The event will take place on Saturday, January 10, 2026, 2 p.m., at the Civic Center Library, located at 1188 S. Livermore Ave.
The Boys of Riverside looks back at the remarkable 2021 and 2022 seasons during which the California School for the Deaf chased history. Fuller chronicles these remarkable years through a series of heart-wrenching and uplifting narratives, following the personal journeys of the young players. Through their eyes, he offers a vivid portrait of high school athletics, powerful camaraderie, and the experience of deafness in America.
ASL interpretation will be provided to ensure accessibility for Deaf and hard-of-hearing community members.
This event is free and open to the public. A book signing will follow the presentation, and copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Before moving to California, he reported from more than forty countries for the Times and the International Herald Tribune, primarily in Europe and Southeast Asia.
