SUMMARY:Livermore Public Library – Park After Dark UV Hike
DESCRIPTION:Livermore Public Library invites adults to experience the outdoors after dark during Park After Dark: UV Hike on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Holdener Park, 2995 Hansen Road, Livermore, CA 94550.

Led by a Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) Ranger, this guided evening hike will explore the fascinating world of biofluorescence, bioluminescence, and nighttime pollinators. Participants will enjoy a slow-paced 1.5- to 2-mile hike into the hills while learning about the remarkable organisms that become visible after sunset.

UV flashlights will be available to borrow, although participants are welcome to bring their own. With a near full moon expected, hikers will have the opportunity to experience the landscape under natural moonlight. Flashlights and headlamps may also be brought, but their use will be limited during portions of the hike to enhance the nighttime experience.

Parking at Holdener Park is free but limited. This program is for adults ages 18 and older.
