Ever wonder what happens to wastewater after it’s flushed? It’s a messy job, but someone’s got to do it! Join City of Livermore staff on May 23 for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Water Reclamation Plant. In honor of Public Works Appreciation Week, spend time learning about the essential work done by City of Livermore Water Resources employees every day to ensure the safety of our community’s water and environment. It may give you a whole new appreciation for modern plumbing. This tour is for everyone aged 12 and older. The majority of the tour is outdoors and requires navigating stairs and gravel walkways, so please wear comfortable, close-toed shoes. All participants will be required to complete a waiver before the tour begins; documents will be provided on site. The tour is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Water Reclamation Plant, located at 101 W. Jack London Blvd., Livermore. This is a pre-registration event. To register or for more information speak with Library staff at all three locations, by phone at 925-373-5505 or by email at lib@livermoreca.gov.
